We booked Michels place for 6 adults and 4 kids. The house was absolutely gorgeous with very tasteful decor and ample accommodations.
The kitchen was top tier and had nearly everything one could hope to have in a vacation home. We were able to easily prepare, cook and enjoy several dinners with some locally purchased seafood.
The bathrooms were clean, had great water pressure and had some upgraded amenities including an electric mirror and bidets. There were plenty of bath linens for us to use between washes.
The bedrooms were nice and the beds were pretty comfortable. We were glad to have some extra blankets available. The closets had adequate storage space and some extra hangers.
The outside areas were wonderful and we took full advantage when we weren’t being touristy.
Because of the time of year we were down (3rd week of Oct) the position of the sun kept the pool in the shade. The pool heating is definitely worth it and you should do before arrival (unlike us 🤪).

Phenomenal customer service!!!! The house was a dream come true. The pictures did not do it justice. Michelle was very quick to answer questions, give recommendations, and check in with us. We are already planning a future trip to bring our children. Location was everything, we were and a short hour drive away from Key West and several beaches were close. We can’t wait to return!!

My family and our friend’s family stayed at Michael’s place (9 of us ) and it was the perfect fit for us! Everything was better than the pictures, super clean, beds were comfortable, outdoor space was incredible and had everything we needed and more. We loved having the deep freezer and second refrigerator down by the pool. The dock was perfect for the 2 boats we brought, off the main water enough that it was super calm and close enough to get to many sand bars and snorkeling spots quickly. We saw manatees daily at the dock! We would 10/10 recommend staying here!!

This place was absolutely amazing from the second we walked in. The location was perfect with easy navigable water ways and plenty of dock space for larger boats. The pool was a hit for the younger kids, communication with Michel was fast and easy. We 100% will be staying here again.

This was our first time to Marathon. First, Michel and Kim were very communicative from the start. They gave great beach and restaurant recommendations before we arrived. Check in was very easy and we had very thorough directions on the process. Home was very nice and clean. Pool was refreshing and relaxing. Lots of parking and could have brought a boat and trailer if we wanted. Michel and Kim checked in a couple of times during our stay to ensure things were good and asking if we needed anything. The stay was great and our first time to the Keys was amazing. We will definitely be back to the Keys and would stay at Michel’s place again!

Michel’s home was absolutely amazing. Perfect location, his pictures do not do the home justice. Everything from the exterior finishings, interior finishings, and the outside decor is perfect for a Florida Keys vacation. The 75 ft doc had ample space, and everything from manatees to tarpon viewing was a plus. The pool is a good size and was convenient when coming off of the boat, and a cool place to hang out at night with the family. There is a fire pit, ping pong table, corn hole to keep everybody busy and happy. The breeze through the outside location made is very easy to just hang out and watch a games on the big screen tv, and the furniture was comfortable. Their is a outside freezer for bait, and ice. The propane grilled was big enough to cook the fresh caught fish, and burgers/hotdogs at the same time. The inside gave everybody their own space when needed with each bedroom having their own private bath. The kitchen has everything a family needs to cook. I rate this 5 +

Wonderful home. Perfect for two families of 4. Pool is amazing, access to canal is a plus and the house has everything you need. Close to beaches and restaurants. Easy boat rental close by as well. Manatees float by and fishing is great off the dock. Would definitely come back. Hosts are great and super accessible!

What a wonderful home for our family trip. Loved having all the space with so much to do while relaxing and enjoying the pool. Enjoyed fishing, playing games, and watching the manatee’s. It was wonderful having the bathrooms for each bedroom. Beds were very comfortable. Thank you for sharing your home with us. So my any wonderful memories were made.

Great house- it was plenty of room with all bedrooms having their own bathrooms. Also was the perfect spot to bring your boat/ trailer with plenty of parking and convenient to both the gulf and Atlantic waters. Plenty of toys to keep the kids busy and hangout downstairs by the pool. I would recommend this house to a friend. One downside was the marina across the backyard has bright lights that shine in all throughout the night so I do recommend the owner gets some blackout curtains in the bedrooms.

Wonderful place open and peaceful .The people were beyond responsive and helped in every way possible can’t say good enough about them. Would stay at this or one of their places anytime. The one minor problem is the marina next-door. They have very aggressive, lighting as for Mermaids Paradise two thumbs up

Beautiful home and great layout for our family of six. We had plenty of room with each bedroom having it’s own bathroom.
Downstairs pool area was perfect and the heated pool kept us home more often than we thought. We fished off the dock, swam, played ping pong and watched a movie outside.

We had a wonderful time in Michel’s house. He always responded quickly and kindly. It has everything you need to prepare food and feels like at home , the house is very clean and comfortable. A lot of cute details and cozy blankets . It’s great to grill on the backyard with amazing canal view. Marathon is small , cute and quiet island but it has very beautiful Sombrero beach with amazing turquoise water. We definitely recommend Michael’s house and we would love to come back again . Key West now in our hearts.

We had to find a place for our group at the last minute when our Dry Tortugas Camping expedition was cancelled by hurricane Rafael, and we got so incredibly lucky to quickly find the Mermaid’s Paradise available. It was a great value for our stay: clean, well furnished and equipped, responsive hosts, refreshing pool, and manatees in the canal along the dock (The dock is on a large canal with ocean access that we didn’t get to use because of windy weather, but we would definitely rent a boat for the week next time we go back). This house is worth a trip to Marathon all on its own!

Awesome stay at Mermaids Paradise! Fit our two families perfectly (two couples, three teen boys, and two teen girls). Absolutely LOVE that each bedroom had its own full bathroom as this was hard to find at most other air bnb we looked at. Also LOVE that it had two master bedrooms so the couples didn’t have to argue over who got the good room. This was perfect! Very clean, new, pleasant. Will absolutely stay again and look at their other properties too. I prefer renting properties managed by property mngt companies over private owners bc it’s always been a 100x better experience so now that’s all I will rent. Thanks!

The house is better than the pictures. The beds are very comfortable. It is a great location for your boat if you are bringing one. The pool area is fantastic with lots of activities. The cover over the porch upstairs is a great protection from the sun and rain. You can enjoy this house in any kind of Florida weather.

We really enjoyed our time at Mermaid’s Paradise. This property was new, clean, and well-appointed. We had everything we needed. It is located in Marathon, a short drive to Sombrero Beach and Islamorada. Plenty of restaurants and activities nearby. Our kids loved the pool and ping pong table. The only downside, in our opinion, was the property is across the canal from a boat storage facility. The boat storage facility has bright lights shining in the direction of Mermaid’s Paradise property through the night. The two king rooms facing this direction of the lights, were bright through the night. Mermaid’s paradise provided sleep masks but we would’ve preferred not to have to use them at all. This situation was not a deal-breaker, but those sensitive to light at night should know.

Terrific house for both comfort and convenience! It is a lovely place on the water across from a marina with a fabulous outdoor living space for pure enjoyment- ping pong, corn hole, swimming, smart TV….and relaxing.
“Mermaid House” is located in a row of a few multiple rental homes, and currently there is a large construction project ongoing directly across the street that created quite a bit of noise as well as dust and debris blowing over most days to the backyard. This is obviously a temporary situation, dependent on the project timeline, but would have been nice to know about.
Additionally, the boat storage directly across the water has bright spotlights on all night that shine into the house, so maybe some darkening shades for those rear bedrooms or bring an eye mask.
Nevertheless, we had a wonderful stay and enjoyed the modern conveniences and central location in Marathon- we were gone exploring outdoors most days and it was a pleasure to come back to in the evenings.
